Grayson's Room

The anticipation of our son, Grayson, is just building.  Today, I am 39 weeks and ready to meet our little guy!  I've started a check list of things I wanted to accomplish before he came....
1. Work done (check)
2. Room ready (check)
3. Bags packed (check)
4. Clothes clean (check)
5. Relax as much a possible (I can put a check there right?!)
He can come all ready!

So as I try to find things to do to fill my time (there is only so much morning TV I can watch), I've discovered my love for photography once again.  Here are some pictures of Grayson's room.
Enjoy!

Crib
(G and I hand painted the monogram on the wall...very carefully!)

G found this antique rocking chair on Craigslist for $20!  I had it reupholstered for around $100.  Total cost of this chair including fabric was under $200!  Not bad at all!  And plus it looks really cool in the room.  Totally our style!

We got this pillow from a neighbor of ours....so adorable!  The throw is from West Elm.

Found the mirrors at Home Goods....perfect match in color!  The dresser is from Pottery Barn outlet and we painted it and I distressed it.  Looks like a vintage piece!

Close up of the dresser....love love love distressing furniture!

Don't love this picture that I took, but the ladder shelf G made.  I wanted something small on this wall since its not very large.  Again, painted and distressed it.  Blue and white pillow from Target and I made the grey pillow.

For our shower we asked for books!  Great way to start a library for your little one!

We love old things...though this ipod docking station is not old (hehehe) it looks it though.  We found it at Target.  But the rattle was mine!  Thats old!

This is a height chart outside of Grayson's room.  Our neighbors gave it to us and we just LOVE it!  We can't wait to use it!  Thanks Jennifer and Wayne!

Last picture....so you can see the whole room.  The sheep rocking is from my parents (Pottery Barn Kids), the rug is West Elm, the architectural piece above the crib is from an antique shop, the crib is from Craigslist (again a $20 find that we painted and distressed) and bedding from Pottery Barn Kids.
Hope you enjoyed looking!

Baby Shower

Gary and I decided to have a very non-tradional baby shower.
1st it was co-ed
2nd it was on a Saturday night, and
3rd we had lots of wine, entertainment and great food.
We wanted it to be a party/celebration with all of our closest friends and family.  The restaurant we chose was a local place we go to often and they let us rent the whole place for the evening!  Our theme was "Feather their Nest"....here are a few pictures from our special night!
